Mace 16th century
Entirely of steel, the head of six shaped flanges each extending to a reinforced point, button finial, tapering tubular haft pierced for a thong and cut with spiral lines at the grip, and rounded pommel with button terminal (heavily rust patinated overall) 62 cm.

Medieval Sword Late 14th century
With tapering double-edged blade of flattened diamond section, straight quillions of rectangular section narrowing toward the tip, and wheel-shaped pommel tapering towards the top. Excavated. This sword corresponds to Oakshott"s group XVIII with a type G pommel. See R. Ewart Oakshott, The Sword in the Age of Chivalry, pp. 67 and 95. Measurements: Overall length 32 1/4 in., Hilt length 6 3/4 in., Pommel 2 in. in diameter, Handle 3 3/4 in. long, Hilt mostly 1/2 in. thick (measured on the face) tapering likely due to loss down to 5/16 in., blade 26 in. long and 2 1/2 in wide at the hilt.
