late 16th-early 17th century
Iron. A spur for the right foot. Main body of half-round cross-section. Tapering to figure "8" terminals. The stalk is in the form of an "S". Large, ornate rowel. 3 strap mounts and a large, flairing buckle. In very good condition with a stable brown patina. This spur shows no signs of having been buried and excavated.
