Gauntlet 1560-1600
For the right hand. Flaired and pointed cuff formed of two plates. The large outer plate rising to a point at the center and with three recessed bands and recessed border polished bright. Small ulnar bump. End of cuff with roped inward turned roll. Small inner plate with recessed outer border and narrow inward turned roll at the wrist. Back of hand formed of 5 plates, a roped knuckle rider and a plate shaped to the fingers to which the finger leathers were previously attached. Fingers and thumb missing. Two marks on the outer cuff plate - one incorporating MD over (possibly) a crown, the other indistinct. Losses to the cuff and metacarpal plates (metacarpal plates patched)
